Blocking a Bank Account in the Event of a Stolen Smartphone

If your phone is taken, you should act quickly to block your bank account so that no one can access your funds or personally identifiable data associated with it. To accomplish this, disable your SIM card if necessary and freeze your bank account. It’s similar like locking up your bank to protect your funds.

It can be annoying to lose both your wallet and phone, particularly if your bank account and phone number are connected. Freezing your bank account is the first step in stopping unwanted access and transactions.

How to Halt Your SIM Card and Bank Account

To block your bank account, follow these steps:

1. To seek a line ban, get in touch with customer service at your mobile network provider. Visit banks if they are open to resolve the matter.

2. Use online banking to disable your ATM and contact Customer Service with your bank information if the bank branch is closed or there is no internet connectivity.

3. To immediately halt debit transactions, dial the bank code on any accessible phone and follow the on-screen instructions.
