It’s not clear from Facebook Messenger whether you’ve been blocked by someone. Though they won’t get them, you may still use the app to find the person who blocked you and send them messages. Rather, it will require some detective work on your part to determine whether the individual in issue has determined they’ve had enough communication with you.
If you want to find out if you’ve been blocked on Facebook Messenger, follow these instructions.
How to determine whether Messenger has blocked you
As previously said, there are telltale signals that can validate your suspicions, but there is no official notification or other indication that you have been blocked.
Open Facebook Messenger and look up the person you believe has blocked you to find out. Everything will first appear normal; their account will show up in the search results or on your list of contacts within the app.
All you have to do is try to message them to find out. Write your message as you usually would, then click Send.
In our instance, the message appeared to be sent (a circle with a checkmark inside it) but it remained in that form indefinitely.
Blocked messages are indefinitely shown as Sent and never delivered.
Normally, you’ll see the circle fill in with colour when the recipient receives the message (as shown below).

The circle should then vanish when they truly open the message on their device.
We believe that this “non-receiving” strategy is necessary to let the person to avoid humiliation or conflict by denying blocking the other party if they choose to communicate with them in an other way.
Your mileage may vary because we have observed some users report receiving a “Message Not Sent” or “This person isn’t receiving messages at this time” alert.
If you search for the individual and their account doesn’t come up at all, it’s possible that they have removed or deactivated it instead of blocking you. After all, some have vowed never to use the social network owned by Meta again in recent years.
The decision of who can view an account holder’s stuff is wholly up to them, hence there is no means to contest being blocked or anything like. In the unlikely event that the cause for the block was unintentional or the result of a misunderstanding, your sole chance to win someone back is to attempt reaching out to them through a friend or another site.
