Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the POLONISTA Scholarship And Fellowship Program:
- The program’s goal is to increase global awareness of the Polish language by allowing foreigners interested in Polish and Polish culture to study or conduct research in Poland. Students of Polish Studies, Polish Studies, or Polish programs done as part of Slavic studies (in the fields of Polish language, Polish culture, and information about Poland), as well as scientists from international universities and scientific institutes, are invited to participate in the program.
- Students- NAWA scholarship holders may further their Polish language interests by improving their knowledge of the Polish language, participating in lectures and classes in accordance with the program of selected studies, conducting research, carrying out research projects, collecting materials for scientific work or thesis, and using the resources of university libraries and archives during partial (semester or two-semester) or full studies in Poland. Students that are interested select the university where they want to study.
- The subject of study chosen should be compatible with the host university’s program of study as well as the Program assumptions. The applicant must get the agreement of the selected institution to begin studies and acceptance of the provided study program, as well as successfully complete the recruiting procedure at the selected university in the case of applicants for full studies. - The opportunity of applying for a grant for PhD students and students planning to pursue third-cycle studies in Poland is a new feature of this year’s recruiting (2021).
- Winners and finalists of the Olympiad in Polish Literature and Language held outside of Poland are also eligible to apply for a NAWA scholarship to study Polish at a designated public university in Poland for a duration of first or second degree.
