IS IT POSSIBLE TO BLOG FULL-TIME?

Can one work as a full-time blogger? It’s true that you can make a living from blogging full-time, if it’s something you’ve ever imagined or pondered about.

I began my first blog more than five years ago, when I was a destitute college student looking for a side gig to earn some cash.

I was making $1,000 a month from my blog in less than six months. I was still not making a full-time living from writing, but it was a wonderful side gig anyway. I was writing for $3,000 a month after a year and a half, which is technically a full-time salary, but not enough in my high-cost city.

After college, I therefore took a 9 to 5 corporate job and continued to build my side blog company. Eventually, after blogging for three full years, I was able to leave my job and dedicate myself to blogging full-time. It was incredible when I made over six figures from my blogging business the next year!

As you can see, it took some time to transition from hobby to full-time blogging.

However, you may turn blogging into a full-time career with perseverance and hard effort.

HOW ARE MONEY MADE BY BLOGGERS?

The majority of bloggers have several sources of income or even run several blogs. (I manage other blogs in addition to this one myself!)

I personally would consider $3,000 a month from blogging to be a full-time income, but it took me about a year and a half to reach that level (albeit still not nearly enough to live on in my city!).

However, it took me a little more than three years to reach a point where I could leave my well-paying corporate position and devote all of my time to blogging.

While some bloggers may achieve full-time income in as little as a year or two, others may need up to five years.

Everything hinges on how much effort and time you put into your blog, how serious you take it, how much experience you have, and even a little bit of luck.

WHAT IS A FULL-TIME BLOGGER’S JOB?

Every full-time blogger has a slightly different routine and timetable.

Being a full-time blogger has several benefits, like the ability to customise your work schedule, work from any location, and focus on any project you choose.

I began travelling full-time after quitting my corporate job to focus on my blog full-time. I travelled to 20 countries in Central America and Europe in a single year, all while working on my blog from different locations!

You set your own hours when you work as a blogger. I don’t usually dedicate 40 hours a week to blogging. I work fifteen to twenty hours a week most of the time.

I write email newsletters, promote my material on social media, answer reader emails, publish new blog posts or update existing ones, and evaluate my performance to make necessary improvements every day. A range of abilities and flexibility are needed for blogging.

Additionally, since you are your own boss, it is your responsibility to establish your own hours and ensure that all of your tasks have been completed.
