54gene was founded in 2019 by Dr. Abasi Ene-Obong to address the significant gap in the global genomics market; Nearly 90% of genetic material used in pharmaceutical research is Caucasian. Only 2% is African, despite the fact that Africans and people of African ancestry are more genetically diverse than all other world populations combined.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Security Associate
Location: Lagos

Department: Operations & Facilities
Reports to: Chief Security Officer
Position Summary

  • The Security Associate manages and supports activities pertaining to staff security.
  • S/He maintains regular contact on a working level with other staff members and partners in the area to facilitate operations. Other duties are to support and monitor the management of security issues.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor the facility for both internal and external security threats and risk.
  • Advise facility management on security-related issues.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOP) that fit 54gene and 7RL operation models across locations.
  • Implement local security protocols, meet & greet.
  • Ensure compliance with both corporate and local security policies and procedures
  • Supervise, monitor and train all the security guards assigned to all our locations
  • Prepare reports and conduct preliminary investigations of security-related incidents.
  • Work with local law enforcement officials as needed
  • CCTV surveillance, analysis and it’s use to support investigations
  • Monitors intrusion detection alarms across all facilities.
  • Support emergency response team in the event of incidents & threats.
  • Liaise with the security agencies, monitor intelligence on threats level and staff travel advisory to ensure safety.
  • Support other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the manager.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Attention to details, check, examine and record law enforcement relations.
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to think critically.
  • CCTV surveillance skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Investigation and case analysis skills.

Education & Certifications:

  • B.Sc degree required

Experience:

  • 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
