Scholarship For Visually Impaired Students by Dale M. Schoettler – 2023

For students at San Francisco State and San José State Universities, the Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students was created in 1991. The California State University received a $4.8 million legacy from Mr. Schoettler’s estate after his passing in 2001 to expand the current financial aid programme for students who are legally blind to all 23 CSU campuses.

Eligibility

  • All continuing part-time undergraduate and graduate students in any major are eligible for this award, as long as they maintain a 6.1 unit minimum enrollment during the academic year in which the award is given.
  • Possess a vision impairment and be able to present documentation from a medical specialist, including the best corrected visual acuity notations. (Note that the impairment must be severe enough to interfere with learning and require accommodations, support services, or programmes.)
  • 2.8 GPA
  • The candidate must be legally blind.
  • Need for money
